Since its inception, MORryde has embraced the ideals of hard work, ingenuity, and a can-do attitude. In 1966, with the recreational vehicle industry booming in Elkhart, Indiana, Bob Moore, Sr. seized upon an opportunity to fill a need in that market. Branching out from the family dry cleaning business, he began manufacturing suspension systems for the trailers that towed RVs. The new company was MORryde.
By the 1980s, the young company had become an industry leader in motorhome and towable RV suspension systems. Because MORryde combined top products with extreme customer service, it wasn’t long before our customers approached us to fill needs in metal fabrication, and our willingness to try anything compelled us to give it a shot. With a few secondhand machines, MORryde’s metal fabrication operations started up in the early 1990s. Shortly thereafter, customers asked MORryde to enter the chassis modification and upfit market. Although it was a big step, MORryde has successfully grown into the industry leader.
From its humble beginnings, MORryde has grown to a multi-plant facility with over 900,000 sq. ft. and 1,000+ employees. Even as the leadership has passed to sons Rodney and Bob Moore, Jr., the company has not lost its willingness to try new things and keep an open mind to possibilities. MORryde’s customer mindset was and continues to be, “What else can we do for you?”
